05 March 2020On Thursday 20 Feb it was Pretoria 87’s turn to distribute the Banana donation we receive from a kind donor. We contacted Leana Lourens from Rosemary Hill. They run a feeding scheme in conjunction with the Max Stibbe Waldorf School. The specific feeding scheme provides a nutritious meal to 130 children daily. These children live in the informal settlement near Lethabong. For many of these children, this meal they receive through Rosemary Hill is their only source of nutrition.
We at 87 appreciate the opportunity created by the donor as this enables us to further serve the community. None of us is in this for personal recognition, but rather for the fact that small gestures can go a long way. These kids are the leaders of the future, and they need to be protected and nurtured.
As Franklin D. Roosevelt fittingly put it "The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much it is whether we provide enough for those who have little."
